Standing Up for Tariff-Impacted Communities

President Trump’s tariffs are creating uncertainty for workers, businesses and communities across Ontario. Our Ontario PC team is standing up for them with a comprehensive plan to protect jobs, strengthen businesses and build a more resilient economy.

We’ve put forward $30 billion in tariff relief and supports to help Ontario businesses weather the impact of U.S. tariffs while positioning our economy for long-term growth.

Our plan includes:

  • $1 billion Protect Ontario Financing Program, with expanded eligibility to help tariff-impacted businesses cover critical costs like payroll, leases and utilities.
  • $150 million Ontario Together Trade Fund to help businesses re-shore critical supply chains, strengthen domestic manufacturing and find new markets.
  • $40 million Trade-Impacted Communities Program to help communities and industries facing significant economic disruption from tariffs.
  • Ontario Made Manufacturing Investment Tax Credit to encourage businesses to invest, expand and create good-paying jobs right here in Ontario.

We’re also using Ontario’s purchasing power to prioritize Ontario- and Canadian-made goods and services, while encouraging businesses across the province to buy local and strengthen our domestic supply chains.

At the same time, we’re continuing to lower taxes, cut red tape, attract investment and support businesses through programs like the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund, Eastern Ontario Development Fund and Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Competitiveness Stream.

Canada needs to stand together. We’ll continue protecting Ontario workers and businesses from President Trump’s tariffs while building a stronger, more self-reliant economy that can withstand whatever comes our way.

Our Ontario PC team will always stand up for Ontario.
